Benny Peiser: The Reality Is Climate Outlook Better Than Expected
The IPCC is deliberately diverting attention away from the biggest elephant in the room, and that is its flawed predictions that temperatures were going to rise 0.2C a decade after 1990. In fact, there has been no global warming trend since 1997, but they are afraid to come out and admit this.
If climate scientists were honest enough to acknowledge their predictions were for excessive warming they would have to admit that their climate models could be in serious trouble.
The IPCC has failed to come clean and is therefore not credible. I find it hard to believe people will have much trust in the exaggerated claims it makes and which do a huge disservice to proper science.
But there is a problem. The predictions of future catastrophe are based on computer models that have failed to match the real and observed climate and temperatures.
Around the world, governments are wasting trillions of pounds on useless technology which have no effect on the climate but are causing economic hardship and environmental damage.
The IPCC is doing a huge disservice to proper science with such tactics and more and more people are losing trust in their claims and predictions.
Unless global temperatures begin to rise again in the next few years it is very likely going to suffer an existential blow to its credibility.
